Skirts have a knack for making an outfit appear girly and ‘dressed-up’, but with the right partners in crime (aka all the other clothes) , your skirt can look chic and industrial. This Helmut Lang tank, army jacket, and tough-girl mules from rag + bone make for a casual combo that can take you from day-to-night. And, while it might not be 9-5 office appropriate, it’s a great weekend warrior uniform.
Although the skirt is a great staple for your wardrobe, my favorite part of this outfit is the accessories. The black cat-eye shades, and vintage broach that I fished out of my mother’s jewelry box crank the look up a notch — giving it that Katniss Everdeen (if she were more stylish and an actual person) appeal. That broach could totally be my token, right? Just goes to show that sometimes the devil, or bad-ass chick, is in the details.
