Meet Me at the Met

Being on tour alone can get a little lonely. So, when I was in NYC with the Ben & Jerry’s Core Tour, I was really excited to be able to catch up with old friends in my (small amount) of spare time. One of my favorite places to meet up with friends for the day is The Met. After grabbing your ticket in the main entrance you can head up to the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor rooftop garden where you can purchase a few cocktails and enjoy the view.  Oddly enough, this part of the museum is rarely visited by tourists, and you’ll mostly find locals up there taking in the view with a beer and chatting amongst friends. It’s defintiely a good scene for a mid-week get together.

After you’ve soaked in some rays on the roof, and some culture down in the museum, I recommend heading to Greenwich Village to refuel with a cup of joe from any of the delicious coffee shops. Look for coffee that is fair trade, so you know you’re drinking the good stuff.

I love finishing my days in Brooklyn. All of the parks along the river have amazing sweeping views of the city skyline. My personal favorite locale is Transmitter Park up in Greenpoint. You’ll see everyone from old-timey locals splitting a forty out of a brown paper bag, to young professionals picnicing on the pier.

Once the sun goes down, head over to Pies n Thighs in Williamsburg for some yummy homemade pie. I had the bluebarb (blueberry and rhubarb), but any selection is going to be delicious. I’m sure, over time, I’ve tried just about all of them. Shh, don’t tell anyone!

This is just one example of how I like to spend my day in the city. Can’t wait to share more fun places for you to go! ❤
