A Perfect Day in Miami

When I imagine my perfect day on vacation, it consists of eating great food, getting outdoors, and hitting up the social scene. Never in a million years did I imagine I would be able to do them while on the job! A few weeks ago, while wokring in Miami, I managed to do all three with some amazing people who showed me exactly how things are done in Miami.

We started our morning with a paddle boarding session thanks to South Beach Kayak. The tour took us through some of the man made islands. During the time that we were there, manatees had been spotted in the same area, but our group wasn’t lukcy enough to see those gentle giants. Maybe next time!

After a good hour out on the water, we headed to The Local House for some refreshments and lunch. Greeted with a glass of watermelon and juice and smiling faces, this restaurant, situated in the Sense Beach House, was the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the hottest part of the day. I can’t say enough good things about the food. The goat cheese croquettes were amazing, and I haven’t had octopus that tender in I don’t know how long. If you’re looking for a brunch spot in Miami, this is definitely the place to be. In addition to their yummy menu, their cocktail and wine list do not disappoint. And what’s more important to brunch than a good glass of bubbly? I recommend the Ca’ del Bosco, by the bottle, obviously.

Once we were stuffed to the brim, it was time to head over and check out the scene at the Miami Beach Polo World Cup, which was catered by bâoli. Seeing the “sport of kings” with such a beautiful back drop was a perfect way to end the day. And the hot polo players didn’t hurt either.

A huge thanks to Miami.com for helping me enjoy a perfect day in Miami!

  1. Great Photos. There’s no doubt Miami is a #1 party destination but as you’ve shown here it does decadence pretty well. Nothing screams indulgence to me than Watermelon juice. Apparently the have a good basketball team too.
